This policy explains what we collect when you use the DashProof store, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We've written it in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
DashProof is operated by V&L Enterprise LLC, an Indiana limited liability company, trading at getdashproof.com. V&L Enterprise LLC is the business responsible for the personal information described in this policy, and is who you're dealing with when you exercise any of the rights below. What we collect
When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number if you give one, and the details of what you bought. We need all of it to send you a product and to talk to you about it afterwards.
Payment information: handled by our payment processor, not by us. Your full card number never reaches our systems and we cannot see it. We receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded and the last four digits for reference.
When you browse: your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, and which pages you viewed. This arrives automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
When you email us: whatever you write, plus your email address, kept so we have a record of your support history.
Why we collect it
- To process, ship, and refund your orders
- To answer your emails and handle warranty claims
- To detect and prevent fraudulent orders and chargebacks
- To understand which pages people use, so the store works better
- To meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with the companies we need to in order to run the store:
- Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders on our behalf
- Payment processors, to take payment and handle refunds and disputes
- Shipping carriers, who need your address to deliver the package
- Analytics providers, which receive usage data about how the store is used
- Law enforcement or regulators, where we're legally required to respond
Some sharing for advertising purposes may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under certain state privacy laws even though no money changes hands. You can opt out through our Your Privacy Choices page.
Cookies
Cookies keep your cart working between pages, remember you when you return, and let us measure traffic. You can block or delete them in your browser settings, but blocking them entirely will break the cart and checkout.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Get a copy of it
- Have it corrected if it's wrong
- Have it deleted, where we're not legally required to keep it
- Opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these
To make a request, email support@getdashproof.com. We'll verify who you are before releasing anything — usually by confirming details of a past order — and respond within 45 days. We won't charge you for a reasonable request.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, typically several years. Support emails are kept while they're useful for warranty and dispute purposes. Analytics data is retained in aggregate. When we no longer need something, we delete it.
Security
This store runs over encrypted connections and payment data is handled by PCI-compliant processors. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise — but if a breach ever affected your data, we would tell you.
Children
This store is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Footage recorded by your camera
This is worth being clear about: we never receive, store, or have any access to video recorded by your dash cam. Footage stays on your memory card, under your control. Nothing about the product uploads your recordings to us.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on this page.
